A person who lacks accountability lacks empathy. They can’t see themselves enough to extend that visibility to others. No matter if one can see things as they appear… rather as they are or are not, you can feel and sense the lovelessness that exists within said person. And in the same breath, you can’t unsee the godlessness that dwells there as well. How it has taken form in multiple spaces in a way that is similar to that of cancerous tumors metastasizing throughout the body. It is heart-wrenching. Especially when you feel … know deep in your heart that you have the remedy… the antidote… the cure for such a case. But, how do you offer that to a person who doesn’t see themself as one who is sick? To them, what they are and are accustomed to doesn’t fit the standard of being ill. Being in such a compromising state is not something they are willing to accept as their truth. They’ll rather live in a state of denial. While you, being the person connected to them, bear witness to and experience their suffering as if it were that of your own. Eventually, coming to terms with the fact that no matter how deeply you want to rid them of what’s plaguing them, you can no longer burden yourself at the cost of your own wellness.
